Cohort is a single-player game with no account and no server of its own. This policy explains the small amount of data the app involves, who processes it, and why. It describes what the software actually does. If that ever changes, this page changes first.
Cohort (Cohort: Game Studio Tycoon) is published by J AND B CREATIONS LLC. You can reach us about privacy at support@playcohort.app.
The app has no login and no user accounts. Your game progress is saved as a single file in the app's own storage on your device. It is not sent anywhere, and we cannot see it. Deleting the app removes it.
Cohort has no backend of its own and no analytics. It relies on a few third parties for purchases, one optional ad, and leaderboards. Here is each one, what it receives, and why.
| Service | What it receives | Why |
|---|---|---|
| RevenueCat | An anonymous ID it generates itself, plus purchase and receipt data and basic device and app-version information. No name, email, or address, because the app never collects one. | To manage your purchases and unlock what you bought. See the RevenueCat privacy policy. |
| Google AdMob | Device identifiers, IP address, and coarse device and ad-interaction data. On iOS the app does not request App Tracking Transparency, so the advertising identifier is not available and ads are non-personalised. | To deliver and measure the single optional ad and to prevent fraud. See the Google privacy policy. |
| Apple Game Center | Two integer scores: your final store rating and months survived. No text you write is ever submitted, so a studio name you type stays on your device. | To show the leaderboards. Apple handles player identity. See the Apple privacy policy. |
| Apple App Store | Handles the purchases themselves. Apple is the seller and processes payment. We never receive or store your payment details. | To sell and deliver in-app purchases. See the Apple privacy policy. |
Cohort shows one kind of ad: an optional rewarded video that plays only when you tap a button to watch it. There is no banner, no full-screen ad between screens, and no ad on launch. The ad is non-personalised, and on iOS the app does not request App Tracking Transparency, so it does not use the advertising identifier. For install measurement, the app uses Apple's SKAdNetwork, which reports conversions to Apple without identifying you.
Where the law requires a choice, including in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent before it uses data for advertising.
Cohort is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. It is a satirical simulation intended for a general adult audience. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us at support@playcohort.app and we will address it.
Because the app is available worldwide, data-protection laws such as the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act may apply to you.
The app itself holds no personal profile of you. There is no account, and the save file stays on your device. The limited data described above is held by the third parties named, each acting under its own policy. To exercise rights of access, deletion, correction, or objection, you can:
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
On-device data lives until you delete the app. The data held by RevenueCat, Google, and Apple is retained according to each company's own policy, linked above. We keep no separate copy, because we have no server.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Because the app has no account, we cannot email you about changes, so the current version always lives here. This policy was last updated on 10 August 2026.
This page describes what the Cohort software does with data. It is written to be accurate, not to be exhaustive legal boilerplate.
